Argentina is the Second Most Expensive Country for a Big Mac

Argentina is once again at the center of the debate over international prices following the publication of the latest Big Mac Index, prepared by the British magazine The Economist. According to the survey, the country ranks second in the global ranking of the most expensive economies for purchasing the famous McDonald's combo, which reached a local value of $7.37. As reported by the Argentine News Agency, the country climbed in the global ranking and is only behind Switzerland, where the menu costs $7.99. This data confirms the phenomenon of dollar inflation, showing how local goods and services are becoming more expensive in hard currency even compared to nations with significantly higher per capita incomes. The report highlights the cost disparity: while in Argentina more than seven dollars are paid for the product, in the United States the same item is worth $5.79, and in the Eurozone, the average is even lower. Argentina surpassed countries historically considered expensive, such as Uruguay ($6.91), Norway ($6.67), and Italy ($6.42).
